Marijuana

Welcome to Gone South, we are a free Marijuana | Weed | Cannabis resource website that provides you with non-biased information on the pot plant which comes from the single-strain species Cannabis Sativa L. subspecies Cannabis Indica Lam. & Cannabis Ruderalis.

.

For a start, the word marijuana, along with weed, pot, ganja, skunk, grass, herb, mary jane and many more aliases, are commonly known names for the illegal psychoactive cannabis drug in its herbal form, when you hear the words hash, hashish, resin, rocky, squidgy black, solid slate, pollen etc, it refers to cannabis in its resinous form.

Both the herbal form marijuana, and the resinous form hashish, come from the same cannabis plant, but both drug products are manufactured using different methods.

Marijuana Weed is a mixture of the cannabis plant's dried out flower/ buds and the subtending leaves/ leaf of the female/ feminized (pestillate) cannabis plant

Hashish (cannabis resin) is made up mainly of the plants glandular trichomes (deriving from the greek meaning "Growth of Hair"), a THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) rich glandular hair which when compressed with various parts of the marijuana buds and fragments of the marijuana leaf creates a solid resin that goes softer under extreme heat (usually a naked flame from a match or lighter) so it can be crumbled off into small boulders ready to be smoked in a joint.

Another interesting fact about the name "Pollen" is that it comes from a high concentration of solid resin which is specifically procured from the trichome (pollen) reservoirs and if the resulting process is not compressed for ease and storage and transportation (a.k.a. smuggling), the dried powder of trichomes is as an illegal cannabis drug product called "Kief".
